Behavioural and Emotional Strengths and Weaknesses
As part of child and adolescent assessments, we also assess for indicators of behavioural and emotional strengths and weaknesses in children and adolescents. This can include additional assessment measures:
- Behavioural Assessment System for Children (BASC-3): This protocol is a universal screening psychometric test for measuring behavioural and emotional strengths and weaknesses in children and adolescents. It is a well validated screen tool and is frequently used in child health services. This scale is suitable for parents of children aged 2 to 21 years of age.
- Behavioural and Emotional Rating Scale – Second Edition (BERS-2): This checklist assists in identifying the behavioural and emotional strengths of children by assessing five dimensions of childhood functioning. Interpersonal Strength, Family Involvement (FI), Intrapersonal Strength (IaS), School Functioning (SF) and Affective Strength (AS).
Adaptive Behaviour Assessment System (ABAS-3): The ABAS-3 gives a complete picture of adaptive skills across the lifespan. It is particularly useful for evaluating those with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, learning disabilities, neuropsychological disorders and sensory or physical impairments.
