Associate Consultant Forensic Psychologist

Emma-Jayne Williams is an AssociateConsultant Forensic Psychologist with FPP Ltd.  She holds a BSc (Hons) Forensic Psychology, MSc Criminological Psychology, Qualification in Forensic Psychology, British Psychological Society, and is a Chartered (C.Psychol) and Registered Forensic Psychologist.

Ms Williams has extensive experience of working in forensic setting with adults and young people.  In addition, she has significant experience of working within children’s services both with Looked After Children/Residential Care and Independent Specialist Schools.  She is experienced in assessing and working with individuals, couples, parents, other family members, and family groups across various specialties in psychology.  She is proficient in assessing a broad range of psychological and social problems demonstrates and I have an ability to evaluate and understand the complex needs of individuals and families.

Her expertise spans multiple specialties, including adult mental health, children and young people who are looked after, specialist education, learning disabilities, and forensic services for adults and young people. This wide-ranging knowledge allows me to address a diverse set of challenges and client needs effectively.  She uses a range of assessment tools with children, young people and adults to provide an evidence based assessment.  She has completed training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), AIM Understanding and Managing Harmful Sexual Behaviour in Education Settings, Up-skilling in personality disorder assessments, using ICD-11 and DSM-5 Alternative Model approaches, Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP) Level 1 & 2: Psychotherapy and Parenting, Essential Supervision Skills (BPS Accredited), Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Training, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Trauma.

She is experienced in giving evidence in complex cases within proceedings and has specialist interest in the impact of trauma on functioning and relationships, the management of children and young people who display sexually harmful behaviours, attachment theory and trauma-informed forensic practice.
